The mission of the Georgia Art Education Association is to advocate for the highest quality visual arts education and provide for the advancement of knowledge through service, leadership and research.

Membership Information

$85: Active Professional/annual fee
The membership fee includes membership fees for both the Georgia Art Education Association and the National Art Education Association.

Benefits of Membership

  • Your membership entitles you to a unified membership in the Georgia Art Education Association and the National Art Education Association.
  • GAEA FALL CONFERENCE – reduced rates to attend the program, meetings, and workshops.
  • COLLAGE – GAEA’s newsletter of future events, teaching ideas,conferences, student exhibitions, workshops, and opportunities such as the Capitol Art Show and the Youth Art Month celebrations.
  • NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY (NAHS)– a program to recognize and reward talented high school art students.
  • SPECIAL EXHIBITION AND RECOGNITION PROGRAMS – NAEA works with commercial groups and government organizations to bring public attention to art through competitions.
  • PROFESSIONAL REPRESENTATION IN EDUCATION AND POLITICAL AFFAIRS – nationally NAEA works with other education groups to promote the values and goals of arts education. On the state level, GAEA represents art teachers in considering policies determined by the Georgia Department of Education, the State Board of Education, and the Board of Regents.
  • GEORGIA SPECIAL EXHIBITIONS AND COMPETITIONS-  student competitions such as the All State Art Symposium, the Capital Art Show, and the NAHS State Competition are only open to students of current members
